Christmas Cookies!

I am *Finally* getting around to posting Christmas cookies!! Its been a bit crazy around here lately.  Namely, our little guy has not been sleeping well, which if you're a parent you know all too well that when a 2 year old doesnt sleep, neither does mama!  And since I do all of my cookie decorating after he goes to sleep, well, I havent done nearly as much lately.

But here are some of the cookies I have done so far.  I know some of my customers watch this blog for updates, so if you would like to order Christmas cookies, please email me at lyndsey.gillespie@hotmail.com to discuss an order.  Thanks! :)

Mini cookies! these are adorable!

Lots of sparkles...I dumped a few too many on the Christmas light cookie, but its pretty! :)

Gift tag cookie.  A great addition to any gift, can be personalized!! :)

Cupcake Bake-a-thon.

Jay's best friend Derek is getting married on Saturday.  We are super excited, we love Derek and Stacey and have been waiting for this day to celebrate with them.  Jay is the best man, and I am doing her cake..which entails 300...yes 300...cupcakes, as well as an  8" square cake to go on top of the cupcake stand that she has.

I'll post some more pics later, but here are the 150 white cupcakes packaged up and waiting to be decorated.

I also have about 80 red velvet and 95 pumpkin spice! (I went a little overboard with the pumpkin spice, but thats ok :) )

I'm so burned out, I will update after this weekend.   Just cant think straight to even blog right now!

Habitat for Humanity cake

8" round cake iced in buttercream with fondant decor.

Happy Birthday Ayden!

I got to do this birthday cake for a 4 year old named Ayden.  Ayden loves Pablo from the Backyardigans and this was a lot of fun to do.  Thanks to all those on cake central who have shared their Pablo cakes! You all are great inspirations!

Purse and Shoe Cookies

I had so much fun doing these cookies.  I got to send them to Indiana University to a student there, and I remember how much fun it was to get "real" mail at college - it was the best! I would have loved to have gotten cookies like these, although I'll admit my mom did send me some fun stuff during my time at Ball State. :)

Shoes...

Purses...

I didnt use the handle cut-out on these since they were being shipped and I was afraid the fragile handle wouldnt hold up in the shipping process.

I hope you liked the cookies, Annie!!  They were so fun to make!

Personalized Apple Cookies

These were so fun to do!

Happy Birthday Jamison!

Jamison's mom and I "met" online a couple of years ago when we were both expecting.  We have kept in touch and asked me to do cookies for her daughter's 2nd birthday this past week.  Happy birthday sweet Jamison!

love how the ladybug turned out! :)

Halloween and Autumn cookies

I have been itching to do fall and halloween cookies.  My dad came to visit this week so I decided to make some cookies for him to take to the ladies at his work.  They loved the Easter cookies I did last spring so I thought they would enjoy some more cookies.

I love all of these, especially the candy corn and the little spider.  Black sanding sugar actually made the spider look fuzzy. :)

Autumn cookies.  I love the shades of color that autumn gives us!

Baby Girl Shower Cookies

A friend of mine ordered this platter of girly baby shower cookies.  It was so fun to do these! I love, love, love this color combo.

Ducks, onesies, bottles, rattles, and mini flowers :)

"Massage" cookies

My friend Amy is currently in school to be a massage therapist.  She asked me to do some cookies for her early morning class, so I did a combination of cookies.

On the left, lemon cookies and on the right, sugar cookies.

The sugar cookies were decorated with hands and had words like "massage" "renew" and "relax"

Thanks, Amy, for requesting these and taking them to your class! I'm so glad everyone liked them!!

Abby Cadabby Birthday

This was such a fun cake to do! It was for a little girl's 2nd birthday party and her theme was Abby Cadabby.  6" round top, strawberry swirl WASC with cream cheese filling, 10" bottom, marble with buttercream filling.  All iced in buttercream with fondant stars.  Stars were dusted with Disco Dust (a beautiful, edible glitter).
The little girl got a big smile on her face when she saw her cake.  melted my heart!

And a view of the top :)

Welcome to the world, baby Joshua!!

A dear friend of mine recently gave birth to her sweet baby boy, Joshua Lee.  Congratulations Audrey and Brian!! To celebrate, I sent her some onesie cookies (as well as a bag of mini cookies).  First I put them in a box to see how a boxed set would look. (I havent attempted to ship a boxed set of cookies yet, so Audrey got hers individually wrapped.)  She let me know when she got them that she and her family loved them.  Yay! That made me so happy :)

Onesie cookie boxed set

2 of my favorites from this set

Love the ribbon on the boxed set!

Hello, Cupcakes!

These were some cupcake cookies a friend ordered for her bridal shower.  This was the first time I did a two-toned cupcake "wrapper" and I love how it turned out.  The top of the cookies also had disco dust which of course I love.  It makes the cookies so pretty and really adds a special touch!

Hello Kitty

I did a cake this weekend for a sweet little girl's 2nd birthday.  The night I did this cake I was actually at a party store and looked at all the Hello Kitty stuff they had.  Hello Kitty is so sweet and cute, and with her simple shapes and detail, she makes for a great cake model :)  there were so many ways I wanted to go with this cake, so I hope I get to do Hello Kitty again sometime!

New Cookie Packaging!!

I've been looking around for some different cookie packaging and was excited to find these boxes.  I've been eyeing some stationary boxes online, but those are a more expensive investment up front.  These dont hold many, but they would make for an adorable gift.

yummy chocolate chip cookies!

new packaging fits 2-3 regular size cookies. or several minis!! what a great gift!

apple cookies. so fun to do :)

Kacee's Baby Shower cookies

Facebook is awesome for re-connecting with people.  Some people I choose to not re-connect with, haha!, but most of the time I love it.  One of the people I've gotten to know again thanks to facebook is a high school friend Kacee.  She is expecting her first baby due anytime now and last month i got to go to her baby shower.  her sister ordered this cookie bouquet for Kacee.  I love the pregnant mama cookie!

thanks so much to the Painted cookie for her inspiration of the pregnant mama cookie. i will link her blog soon it is amazing.

Hang in there, Kacee! Your sweet baby boy will be here before you know it!

Yummm Ice Cream!

I had this cookie cutter for a long time before I finally got to use it.  Last spring our youth group did an auction to raise money for their trip to the LA Dream Center.  I feel blessed to have been able to help them go by offering a dozen cookies a month for a year to a lucky bidder :)  We started with the first dozen in August and these were what I came up with.

Whats really fun about getting to do these cookies is I get to pick the cookies each month.  So I get to use a lot of cutters that I've never used before and try out new things.  So fun! Its the least I can do to give back to a wonderful church who has done so much for us, and of course to our Lord who provides for us every step of the way.

Toy Story cookies

I did these cookies back in August for my friend Serena in Michigan.  Her little boy Bennett was turning 4 and a huge Toy Story fan.  Serena is a very talented work-at-home-mama who owns The Serene Dream Shop which has everything from screen tees, cloth diapers (my fave!!) and more.  Check her out!

I love how the Mr. Potato Head turned out. Woodys face was a bit too long, but he and Buzz were a lot of fun :)

Belt buckles, cowboy hats, and sheriff badges :)

Mario...again!

Its hard to believe its been a year since I did my first Mario cake.  I think this is my 5th Mario cake now.  It was a lot of fun to do.  I added the side stuff as a last minute idea, if I do it again I'd make the "sky" a light blue.  but I was running out of icing, so this is what I kept it at.  Happy Birthday, Josh!  We love you, buddy!

Monkeys and Beaches :)

I know this picture is small, but I hope you can see the cake.  It was a monkey theme and super cute.  My cousin Vicky helped me to do this cake, it was for her son's 1st birthday in June.  We covered the cake in green-dyed coconut to make it look like a jungle theme.  Vicky made monkeys out of gumpaste and we used a cupcake on top to make a little "hut".  So fun!

monkey cookies!

Vicky's step-daughter, Maggie, was also celebrating her birthday that weekend. (One day after Alex's!)  So we made her a beach theme cake.
